It has been a flying start to 2023 with a record number of boats being sold so early in the year. Those dreaded interest rates are climbing, but we are not feeling the repercussions at all. It seems that the pull of our beautiful waterways remain stronger than ever with so many of our customers upgrading their boats or becoming first time Cruisers or Racers.

Between the staff at DBY we have extensive experience. All our brokers have enjoyed sailing and boating from a very young age. Rod Waterhouse has been sailing since a wee tot, with his son Jason Waterhouse now enjoying great success in the SAIL GP around the world. Rod is even teaching his grandson Jackson (5 yrs old) how to sail as they are racing together every Thursday evening. Watchout for Jackson Waterhouse in the future - he is already proving to be a hot contender! John Lamble has been racing in the past but these days prefers his motor cruiser to enjoy the smaller waterways in the picturesque Hawkesbury river. Although he does have his eye on a beautiful old vintage sailing yacht... I have been sailing with my Dad since I was 6 yrs old and I like nothing more than tinkering on a boat which makes me feel relaxed and in my happy place. My wife, Michelle Parker, has been sailing since a girl with her father, the late George Keegan from Newcastle. George founded the Newcastle Cruising Yacht Club and you will still see his portrait in the trophy room with a race or two named after him. A true gentleman.
